Hunters for thunderstorms often rely on their own intuition to be at the right time in the right place. But this spring Mike was unlucky. When his colleagues had already published photos of a terrific thunderstorm in social networks, he was 130 kilometers from its epicenter.
"When you are so selflessly working on the goal, as I did this spring, and something similar happens, it's easy to break down and surrender," Olbinski writes. "It seemed as if I had let myself down, and I had no choice but to return home . "
But he did not give up, but went to the side of the storm and in an hour and a half made exciting footage with lightning, from which he built the ending of his time-out.
" This video is called" Pursuit ", because you can not give up. Continue to pursue your goal, whatever it may be. This is the only way to get what you want , "says the photographer.
From March 28 to June 29, Mike Olbinski traveled over 45,000 kilometers, crossed 10 states and photographed more than 90,000 photographs capturing beautiful thunderclouds, lightning and tornadoes over breathtaking landscapes.
