The empty building today was built by Magnum Opus Fernando Saldana Galvan, who shed a lot of blood, sweat and tears during the construction of this hotel in the mid-20th century and an unsuccessful attempt to create a unique art center in Mexico City. He dreamed that his creation would become one of the most extravagant hotels in the world.



Although the Posada del Sol today is noticeably collapsing outside, it still demonstrates the true beauty and historical significance of the hotel. The combination of colonial architecture in the style of baroque and modernism, decadence - create the uniqueness of the building. Posada del Sol occupies more than half of the block, including gardens, patios, fountains, terraces, massive paintings. Magnum Saldana Galvan planned that the institution would decorate the casino, the theater, the magnificent chapel, the halls, galleries, cafes, Turkish baths, growth chess, and more than 600 rooms.



Unfortunately, for Galvan, external factors did not take shape in his direction. The construction of Posada del Sol was completely suspended in early 1945, and when Galvan's debts grew beyond the norm, he hanged himself in the courtyard of the hotel. According to legend, he cursed the building before ending his life, so it is worthless today. One of the explanations asserts that Galvan went mad and killed his family just before the opening of the cultural center. Others believe that Galvan came to the sect to the Masons, or that the entire facade project was meant for performing the satanic rites.
