The outcomes are in! After a file amount of submissions—46,000, to be exact—the winners of the 2016 Nationwide Geographic Global Images Contest for Young children have been declared. Spanning scenes of mother nature, cultural snapshots, and portraits of animals, the winning photos showcase all that the planet has to offer—including its up-and-coming expertise.
Previous calendar year, Nationwide Geographic Young children invited aspiring photographers between the ages of six and 14 to submit their photos that fell into these groups: Astounding Animals, Wild Vacation, Dare to Take a look at, and Weird But Genuine. From these teams, a to start with position winner, next position winner, and runner up would be selected. To accommodate the substantial amount of entries, the opposition was divided into two—one for international contributors, and one particular for those from the United States—resulting in double the winners!

In addition to the thematic victors, two grand prize winners have been thoroughly picked from all 46,000 entries. From the international team, eleven-calendar year-old Dewi Baggerman from the Netherlands triumphed with a sunny and distinctive get on tulips. As grand prize winner, lucky Dewi will delight in a five-working day, 4-night vacation to Washington, D.C., finish with a well-earned tour of Nationwide Geographic headquarters. And from the American entries, twelve-calendar year-previous Kate Anderson’s Possessing the Phase, a silly and sweet scene showcasing a front-and-middle duckling, has received her a Galapagos experience.
