The Walt Disney Co. Raised the curtain of the expected land of the "Star Wars" by presenting a 50-foot model showing the land and its attractions for the media and special guests on the eve of Friday's D23 Expo, a three-day two-year conference of Disney fans in the Anaheim Convention Center.
The model shows that it is being built at Disneyland in Anaheim and Hollywood studios at the Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Construction began in 2016 and should be completed in 2019. At Disneyland, the land of "Star Wars" will be the largest Thematic expansion in park history and occupying 14 acres on the north edge. Disney officials describe the new land as on the planet "somewhere on the Outer Rim - on the edge of Unknown Regions".
