Jean-Gabriel Domiger was born in Bordeaux, France, on March 4, 1889.
An extremely talented and early artist, Dutherge exhibited works at the exhibition Salon des Artistes Français (exhibition of French artists) in 1906 at the age of seventeen. In 1913, he was awarded the Second Prize of Rome and became the winner of the gold medal in the show in 1920. Then he began to show outside the exhibition.

First recognized by his landscapes, which he wrote with great ease, his career took a decisive turn in the 1920s. At this time he became a painter of the "Parisian".
From 1955 to 1962 he was the curator of the Museum of Jacquemart-Andre, organizing exhibitions of works by Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Goya and others. In 1938 he was a member of the jury of Miss France. He died on November 16, 1962 on the Paris sidewalk.
