If you’re scratching your head trying to figure out what a bullet bra is, don’t feel too bad, because chances are that you weren’t even born when this pointy underwear was in fashion.

The years we’re pointing at were 1940s to 1950s, when they were made famous by the sweater girls (various Hollywood actresses who adopted the fashion of wearing tight sweaters over a cone or bullet-shaped bra). It was even brought back to the spotlight in 1990 by Madonna when she wore one designed by Jean Paul Gaultier during her Blond Ambition Tour back.

A vintage lingerie company called What Katie Did was among the first to bring bullet bras back into production in 1999, and since then other companies followed with their versions of the iconic clothing piece.

Below we have a full catalog of vintage photos featuring women modeling bullet bras in the mid 20th century. Which one would you pick?
