A pair of newborn gray whale calves, intrigued by visitors, willingly swims to the group to take a closer look. Small calves, persistent with their mother, confidently approached a group of tours that were in the lagoon of San Ignacio in Lower California, Mexico. This delightful moment was captured by the zoologist and wildlife photographer Mark Carwardin during his visit to the area in March 2017.
